SOURCE: I need help with my sansa e250 mp3 player I've just plugged it into my computer and it has some response, and is recognized by the computer. Just as I am typing this and holding power button for at least a minute and nothing was happening, I released the power button then waited about five seconds and pressed it again voila the unit powered up, not at the spot I last left it playing but it has returned to life. Thanks :) I am having the same problem, was playing fine on the way to work today, tried to charge it about ten minutes ago and now nothing will not turn on computer doesn't recognize that it's attached. It is like when you get a new toy for Christmas - and it is broken.I am having the same problem, was playing fine on the way to work today, tried to charge it about ten minutes ago and now nothing will not turn on computer doesn't recognize that it's attached. I so wanted to love these devices - but I am getting frustrated that they won’t work right. I called SanDisk help - and they are making me do some silly “special amazon procedure help desk” procedure, where I have to take a picture of the unit, and send a scanned copy of the invoice from Amazon to a special mailbox - and then within 48 hours - they are supposed to “get back to me” and tell me how they will shop me a new unit. It is a version 2 - and is NOT a refurbished unit (not marked anyway!) But when I went to insert it in to the 280 - it goes in - and springs right back out. It went fine in to the 260 - following exactly the directions in the link above. I also purchased the new 8G microSD card - hoping to be able to use it in both players.
